BlackSpider Technologies Ltd, an on-demand security Services Company, has announced the completion of its acquisition by SurfControl plc. SurfControl plc is adding BlackSpiders on-demand email and Web security service to its portfolio, allowing it to satisfy a demand for managed security solutions.

Although BlackSpider already has users in 43 countries, the acquisition will broaden its reach into the US and Asia Pacific, allowing more customers to take advantage of its email and Web security solutions.

The acquisition of BlackSpider allows SurfControl to address significant new trends in the Security industry. Highlighted at the Gartner IT Security Summit in May this year was the importance of multi-level solutions to best address the customers needs at the lowest total cost of ownership. These Best of Need vendors will take leadership positions in the evolving content security market.
