Aladdin Knowledge Systems has joined the Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group (MAAWG) and the American Alliance of Service Providers (AASP).
With Aladdin eSafe, its integrated content security, spyware and virus protection solution, Aladdin joins the nation's leading vendors and ISPs in MAAWG and AASP to collaborate on best practices, including centralized security at the ISP level. Through its new membership, Aladdin takes an active role within the joint forces working to reduce spam, spyware, phishing and email abuse, help develop best practices to limit network access to spammers and hackers and identify new email and Web threats - all while maintaining the many needed features and conveniences for ISP customers.
The Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group (MAAWG) is where the messaging industry comes together to work against spam, viruses, denial-of-service attacks and other online exploitation. It is an organization addressing messaging abuse holistically by systematically engaging all aspects of the problem, including technology, industry collaboration and public policy. It leverages the depth and experience of its global membership to tackle abuse on existing networks and new emerging services. Headquartered in San Francisco, Calif., MAAWG is an open forum driven by market needs and supported by major network operators and messaging providers.
The American Alliance of Service Providers is an organization that was set up to join together ISPs in a unified front. AASP also has other Internet related companies offering Web Design and Web Hosting as members. AASP has grown to over 700 ISPs. These ISPs collectively bring to the table more than 5.3 Million consumers and take a collective number of Web Hits per month to the tune of 220 Million and employ over 8,400 people.
