Sun Microsystems, Inc. the creator and leading advocate of Java technology, has announced the opening of a multi-level security laboratory in London to demonstrate how different organisations can interoperate within multiple network environments whilst maintaining the highest levels of security and information assurance. The laboratory will provide both existing and potential customers with the opportunity to experience the benefits of a multi-level security architecture.
The multi-level security architecture is based on Sun's Secure Network Access Platform (SNAP) that has been deployed by security and defence agencies around the world. The Sun Infrastructure Solution for SNAP is designed to reduce the complexity of building secure, role-based network communities using thin clients. Traditional PC networks are subject to viruses, worms, and hackers and are expensive and difficult to maintain. SNAP provides an integrated solution that minimises security related outages while delivering a positive user experience.
The Sun Infrastructure Solution for Secure Network Access Platform is currently being used by a diverse range of organisations across the globe including the departments and ministries of defense, educational institutions and local governments.
The multi-level security laboratory will be opening on 5 June at Suns offices in central London.
