SSH Communications Security Corp., the original developer of the Secure Shell protocol, has announced IBM ServerProven certification for its SSH TectiaTM Server for IBM z/OS product. Together with the certification, IBM also granted SSH Communications Security an IBM Advanced Business Partner level in the IBM PartnerWorld Program for ISVs.
Solutions bearing the ServerProven designation have been implemented in a real-world production environment. By considering ServerProven solutions, customers can learn about real-life installation examples that can help promote confidence in selecting ServerProven software applications to run on IBM eServer platforms.
The IBM eServer enablement of SSH Tectia was demonstrated by a major US government agency, which deployed SSH Tectia for IBM z/OS mainframes to securely exchange MVS (Multiple Virtual Storage) data sets between mainframe and Unix environments. The direct access to MVS data sets and automatic ASCII-EBCDIC translations of SSH Tectia helped the customer to minimize user training and programming needed for cross-platform file transfers, facilitating reduced total cost of ownership.
