The European e-Identity Conference: Managing Employee, Citizen And Private Identities, 15-16 June 2006

EEMA, the independent European association for e-business, has announced that following the success of its eID conference in Brussels in February 2006 and widespread media attention regarding national and corporate identity schemes, it will be progressing the debate at The European e-Identity Conference in Barcelona. The conference will encompass broad identity themes how identities are managed and allocated from a corporate, personal and national perspective.

With key contributions from Siemens, Symantec, Verisign, Microsoft, Corestreet and Hewlett Packard, the conference aims to explore the role and value of technology in managing identity, as well as a comprehensive view on the issues involved and best practice solutions. Interactive debate, round table sessions, presentations, case studies, and panel discussions headed by industry and government experts will fill the two days, offering a valuable insight into identity.

More emphasis is being put on identity by businesses in order to manage the security of an increasingly indistinct structure caused by deperimiterisation. Legislation and compliance remains the responsibility of the executives, as it becomes increasingly important to monitor, audit and document who accesses what and when.
