New Podcast: About Enterprise Security Threats
21 Mar 06:11

Security Industry Analyst Natalie Lambert Discusses Best Practices for Protecting Against Data Leakage, Introduction of Malware and other Threats.

SecureWave has announced a podcast featuring Forrester Research Analyst Natalie Lambert entitled Enterprise Security Threats: Defining and Avoiding Malware and Data Leakage. In the podcast, Lambert discusses the increasing complexity of malware, the growing number of targeted attacks on individual companies and data sets and other enterprise IT security threats, as well as policies and solutions organisations can implement to protect proprietary information and systems.

According to Forrester Research, "Viruses as we know them are becoming less common. They have been replaced by much more targeted attacks that seek financial gain or competitive intelligence. Furthermore, the risk of non-compliance, both regulatory and corporate, is becoming too severe to ignore. The risk of not protecting confidential information opens a company up to mandatory disclosure laws, which in turn can sufficiently harm its reputation and thus sales. Consequently, client security needs to adapt to the changing threat of the client environment." (The Forrester Wave: Client Security Suites, Q3 2006, Forrester Research, Inc., September 27, 2006).
