Vista-Compatible IPsec VPN Client
19 Feb 04:26

NCP engineering GmbH has released version 9.0 of its Secure Entry Client. Microsoft has confirmed that the product is Vista compatible.

NCPs Secure Entry Client can be implemented in any remote access VPN environment. The user interface in version 9.0 has been adapted to tie in with the new Windows operating system, without changing the relationship between the icons and the connection set up and authentication processes that customers are familiar with.

The software offers extensive security functions:

  • IPsec encryption with AES or 3-DES
  • IPCOMP data compression
  • extended authentication (Xauth, EAP)
  • support for digital certificates and hardware tokens
  • an integrated Stateful Inspection firewall with situation-dependent firewall rules and
  • "Friendly Net Detection" for automatic detection of secure and non-secure networks.

Furthermore, it has an intelligent automated WLAN mechanism that activates the appropriate profile for the available WLAN in the background, for instance at a hotspot.
