Data protection software developer GuardianEdge Technologies has appointed Kenneth Ng to the position of senior vice president of technologies.
Ng joins GuardianEdge from Vormetric, a provider of security solutions for protecting sensitive data from unauthorized access, where he served as the executive vice president of engineering. GuardianEdge provides end-point encryption solutions for enterprises in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Japan.
In the newly-created position Ng will be responsible for the strategic direction and development of the company's Encryption Anywhere Data Protection Platform. Reporting directly to GuardianEdge President and CEO, Alan Fudge, Ng will oversee research and development, software engineering and product certification programs.
Ng joins GuardianEdge from Vormetric, a provider of security solutions for protecting sensitive data from unauthorized access, where he served as the executive vice president of engineering. Prior to Vormetric, Ng served as vice president in the enterprise information systems division at Oracle, where he led product development efforts with XML database adoption, enterprise search and regulatory compliance. Ng also held management and architect positions at Borland Software Corporation and Informix, now part of IBM. In addition, Ng is the founder of Asera, an ecommerce infrastructure company acquired by SEEC, Inc.
Mr. Ng received a Bachelor of Science degree as well as a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota.
