Anfibia Software has released Desktop Orbiter 4.2, a simple security administration solution for Windows XP.

Desktop Orbiter 4.2 Features:

• Desktop security restrictions to stop users from messing around

• Monitors and restricts network connections
  
• Displays and prints unusual user activity
  
• Filters software usage, making sure unwanted applications are never used
  
• Web site filtering
  
• Automates repetitive tasks
  
• Comprises multiple administration tools, e.g. scheduler, task manager, reboot, take snapshots, send messages

Desktop Orbiter is expressly designed to facilitate administration and protection of large numbers of workstations. The product is available for Windows 2000/XP.

[When considering this type of products at this stage of opsys development I would keep a keen eye at Vista compatibility as well as consider the additional security functionality built into Microsoft's new product. --Ed].
