Aventail has released Aventail ST2, the latest version of its VPN remote access platform.

Aventail ST2 is a remote access solution with universal access through one gateway, a seamless user experience, and central management for all access methods. Aventail ST2 SSL VPNs secure access from devices running Windows, Windows Mobile, Linux, and Macintosh, and enable complete reach to all network resources with granular policy and bi-directional access controls.
The product offers End Point Control for mobile devices, simplified set-up with Dynamic Groups, single sign-on (SSO) support with Dual/Stacked Authentication and Forms-Based Configuration, Session Persistence for roaming access, enhanced Citrix support, and a new NAT mode for Smart Tunneling that streamlines administrative support of IP address pools.

Aventail ST2 detects better with its unique Device Watermarking, allowing certificate-based identification of managed Windows and Windows Mobile devices for added security or fast revocation should a device be lost or stolen.

ST2 protects better with Quarantine Zones that can redirect users whose devices do not match the security requirements for access to a page that displays customized remediation information. The system connects better with its new Connect Tunnel Service Edition enabling secure application-to-application access for Windows 2003 Server and Windows XP. This is suitable for branch offices or remote applications that need to transmit information on a scheduled basis.
