Code Green Networks, a producer of identification and protection of enterprise content systems, has released its next generation content protection solution to mitigate the risk of unauthorised disclosure of sensitive information. The Code Green Networks Content Inspection (CI) Appliance protects all content from all sources, including content management systems, and across all potential leakage points by using "Deep Content Fingerprinting". Additionally, the new appliance protects sensitive information in all languages, including English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, German, Russian and Arabic.

The Code Green Networks solution improves content protection compared with first generation products that focus on securing "structured" customer data and which operate only in English. The company delivers enterprise-class content protection pre-packaged in an appliance that is easily deployed within one hour and adds no burden to an organisation's IT infrastructure. The solution rapidly detects and prevents leaks of structured and "unstructured" content such as internal memos, customer lists, contracts, CAD drawings, financial documents, source code, product plans, and other confidential information.

At the heart of the solution is the CI appliance, an integrated and self-contained system consisting of hardware and software packaged in a rack-mounted form factor. The appliance sits at the network egress point to monitor all content flows. A role-based web interface enables users to define protection policies and to detect movement of sensitive content.

The appliance is based on patent-pending Deep Content Fingerprinting technology, which detects and protects confidential content, as well as subsets of the original content that may have been incorporated into other files. For example, even a paragraph that an employee copies from a sensitive memo into an email will be detected. Additionally, Deep Content Fingerprinting can register and protect information in over 370 file formats.

The appliance monitors and analyses content flows and detects transmissions of sensitive information over any TCP-based protocol including email, Web traffic, Instant Messaging (IM), FTP, or peer-to-peer file sharing.
