AEP Networks has appointed Ken Araujo to the position of chief technology officer. The network and application access security company also promoted Kathryn Kinnamon to chief financial officer. These changes come after the successful merger of AEP Systems Ltd and Netilla Networks last year to form AEP Networks (and the subsequent acquisition of V-ONE Corporation).
Ken will develop AEP Networks technology strategy and guide the product direction. He brings 20 years of experience in engineering to the company. Prior to the mergers last year, Ken was CTO and Senior Vice President of Engineering at Netilla Networks. Before that, Ken was an architect in the CTO division at 3Com, where he worked on broadband and VPN architectures. Prior to that, he worked as chief architect at Teleos Communications, now part of Madge Networks. Ken has B.S. and M.E.E. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University. He currently holds eleven patents.
Kathy is responsible for the company's financial and administrative functions, and has over 19 years of experience in accounting operations, treasury, human resource management and corporate finance. Previously, Kathy served as VP Finance and Controller at AEP Networks, a position she held since joining Netilla Networks in February 2001 (prior to the merger).
