IDEALX, publisher of OpenTrust, and Aladdin Knowledge Systems Ltd. have announced collaboration to secure interoperability of their solutions.

The partnership combines the most advantageous aspects of the solutions proposed by the two companies. IDEALX and Aladdin guarantee full interoperability of their solutions for smart card and/or USB drive management, Single Sign On and PKI implementation.

The Aladdin eToken provides USB-based authentication solutions. OpenTrust, IDEALX's security and trust infrastructure is a secure solution for managing the life-cycle of certificates and cryptographic tokens in smart cards. OPENTRUST-SCM, the OpenTrust smart card manager, is a solution for deploying tokens and multi-use smart cards (PKI, SSO, Access Control, Electronic purse etc.) throughout enterprises, including those with decentralised structures. Such services include issuance and renewal, card replacement, remote unlocking as well as the secure management of compromised cards by alerting all concerned applications. The OpenTrust infrastructure also provides enterprises with digital signature and proof management solutions.

OpenTrust offers associates a PIN code enabled smart card, providing a solution that is both highly secure and easy to use. This PIN code method of securing of credit/debit card payments is a security concept familiar to end users in the UK. The combination of Aladdin's eToken and IDEALX's OpenTrust suite, form a chain of trust with a guaranteed high level of security. As part of their agreement, the two colmpanies propose an integrated solution, which combines the securing of data with eToken, the management of token distribution (Card Management System) and a PKI.

To deploy legally recognised authentication, encryption and signature certificates, companies must use a PKI combined with a solution for managing the life-cycle of the devices on which the certificates are stored.
