msystems Launches mTrust in Europe

11 Sep 01:16

msystems, a producer of personal storage solutions, is launching mTrust encrypted flash drives in Europe.

mTrust comprises three components. The first is the mTrust Ready USB flash drives (UFDs) with hardware encryption and tamper-proof security. mTrust Ready UFDs are used in conjunction with mTrust Shield software which allows organisations to create, manage and audit centralised policies to authorise trusted storage devices to access network resources, while limiting the use of other personal devices and interfaces.

The third component is mTrust Manager, an enterprise management system for centrally deploying, tracking, managing and auditing the activity of information stored on mTrust Ready UFDs, even when they leave the network. mTrust Manager also remotely manages passwords, backs up information, enforces device usage policy and even remotely disables lost or stolen drives.

[We seem to see a new solution of this type every week now. This is good news because it brings control into these elusive mobile storage devices, a necessary step in the fight against insider attacks. --Ed].
