Malcolm Page, head of global business development, government and defence for BT Global Services, has been elected as Vice Chairman of the Managed Services Providers Information Exchange for 2006-7 and chair elect for 2007-2008.
The Managed Services Providers Information Exchange (MSPIE) consists of commercial organisations that supply IT services and security professional services to UK Critical National Infrastructure customers in the public and private sectors.
The main aim of the MSPIE is to understand risks better and improve security to the benefit of customers, clients, stakeholders and UK National Security through information sharing and cooperation. This is achieved by facilitating the sharing of information in a confidential and trusted environment concerning threats, vulnerabilities and incidents of electronic attack between its membership.
Malcolm has been involved with the MSPIE for the past three years on behalf of BT, which was founded as an offshoot of the UK Network Security Information Exchange (UK-NSIE) in April 2003, to share sensitive information in the Information and Communications Technologies sector.
