NCP Engineering GmbH has launched a new secure remote mobile client for Windows operating systems. The new client, known as Seremo, enables secure access to the corporate network from both desktop PCs and laptops used by the mobile workforce.

To give organizations the flexibility they need Seremo has been developed to operate with a full range of VPN gateways from different manufacturers, and data can be transferred over any fixed or wireless network, the internet, or wireless LANs, regardless of media type.

According to IDC the global mobile workforce will grow to more than 20 per cent in the next four years which means there will be approximately 878 million workers by 2008. Ensuring secure, remote access to the enterprise is essential, so Seremo offers a comprehensive range of key security features, including:

Seremo is supplied with an integration wizard to ensure that installation is swift, straightforward and successful. An intuitive GUI provides information on the state of all connections, as well as detailed log information. The configuration wizard also enables users to set parameters for each VPN connection. Domain log-on remains as convenient and familiar as it is in the local network: before logging onto the domain controller the client sets up a VPN tunnel to the central VPN gateway. As a result, all logon data are already encrypted for secure transmission.

The NCP Seremo client supports the following operating systems: Windows XP Windows 2000 (incl. SP4) and Windows NT (incl. SP6.1, SRP).
