Managed security specialist, Network Box Limited, has appointed Mike Allen as CFO and COO. Allen joins from the Linfox Group, where he was on the board of Linfox Armaguard and was CFO of Linfox Group, the logistics, security and property business, which is one of Australias largest private companies.

In October 2006, Network Box was restructured to create a single international company, by merging country distributors in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Allen takes on responsibility for all the financial operations of the new company and for setting up global management systems.

Allen joins the board of the new company, which also includes Michael Gazeley (currently Managing Director, Network Box Corporation, and chairman of the new company), Mark Webb-Johnson (chief technical officer), Michael Fenton (managing director, Network Box UK), Robert Langford (director, Network Box Australia), and Keith Glennan (chief executive officer of the new company). He will be based in Australia.

Allen joined Linfox in 1977 in a senior finance role and was appointed Group Finance Director in 1981. He had overall responsibility for the public float of the company in 1986 and its subsequent privatisation in 1987. In 1997, he was appointed Managing Director of Linfox International, covering operations in Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong and the UK. In 2005, he became Group Finance Director and Chief Financial Officer and in October 2006 joined the board of Linfox Armaguard (the cash security division of Linfox). During Allens time there, Linfox Group grew from A15 million to A1.5 billion and carried out a number of acquisitions.
